Inundated with Get Rich Quick Offers
Originally I had trouble getting my blog email configured with my email account on my computer so had to access my email online. It took a little more time than just bringing up the ‘mail’ on the computer. It was fine at first but as I got sidetracked with other activities in my life (see ‘Roadblocks’ post), I stopped checking. Well I checked in a few days ago. I had an incredible 3978!! emails. At least 90% of them were from people trying to sell software to ‘help me’ make a ton of money overnight or in just a few hours and so on. I am sure many of you have had this experience. I was amazed at the number that accumulated over 6 months or so. How to you tell the good from the bad? With that many to choose from I decided it was too hard to do and am in the process of deleting them all. I figure 500 a day and I should be done in just over a week, lol. Then I can check out any new emails as then come. One thing for sure, any email that is not personalized is not going to get any more than just a glance. I know those are more of a scam than anything. Lesson learned: never leave your email that long before checking it!

Just saw your post at the PTS forum and thought I’d drop in on you.
OK, you know what I’d do with that many emails? Unless you think there’s something important in there from someone you know, delete ’em all and start afresh. Is this a GMail account or something? Just select all and throw ’em in the bin.
99.9% of them don’t even deserve a glance I’m sure. Just quickly scan the ‘From:’ to see if it’s anyone you recognise and if not delete without even opening them. The other alternative is to simply abandon the account and open a new one with Gmail.

Im with Chris…Pitch em. There is probably nothing in those emails you need to see anyway!
You could unsubscribe from people who you know are just selling and not doing you any good, as well.
Since you are in PTS, you really don’t have time to read emails anyway!! haha!!

Thanks for the advice. I was pretty much thinking the same thing. I have been trying to unsubscribe to them as well. Most seem to accept the unsubscribe but there are a couple where the unsubscribe link is ‘no longer available’, haha. Guess I will keep deleting them.
Hi I know what you mean about the emails, I recently un-subscribed from a load but am still getting between 60 and 140 every day!, it is so easy to get side tracked trying to read all your email and before you know it you’ve lost half the time you were going to spend on your business… so now I try to not look at them ’til after I’ve put in some work on my biz (not nearly as easy as it sounds!).
My tip? try to keep subscribed to as few lists as possible, just the ones which are really useful and not trying to pitch you offers every day but are giving you plenty of good info.
